What is there to do in Venice? One can..Stroll down small alleys that always end up somewhere, somehow. Cross one of the 150+ birdies in the small vicinity. Buy a cool opera or carnival mask. Buy some colorful Murano glass figures and jewelry. Walk two store fronts down and see an even cooler mask and glass ring. Get a tour of the city via gondola. That pretty much sums up Venice.

If you are patient enough with mask and glass buying, you will find what you want. We stumbled upon a couple of authentic shops with shop owners painting masks as you talked to them.
In a place where there necessarily isn’t a lot to do from a sites and guidebook standards, the best thing to do is wander. Wandering is the best way to explore. You don’t have any destinations, so you are open to see and do pretty much anything. So what is there to do in Venice? Walk around. Enjoy the people. Absorb the culture. Stumble upon a memorable experience.
